Slovenian Missionary to Madagascar Fr. Pedro Opeka in Cleveland, November 1 2015
You are kindly invited to join a Banquet Honoring Slovenian Missionary to Madagascar, Fr. Pedro Opeka, to be held at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish Hall, in Cleveland, Ohio, November 1, 2015.
This event is being sponsored by the Slovenian-American community at large, St Mary’s and St. Vitus Churches, Catholic Mission Aid Society, and the Slovenian American Times. The purpose of this event is twofold. First, it provides us the opportunity to meet this saintly man, honor him for his work, and allow him the opportunity to inspire all of us to be the best we can be in following the biblical admonition of caring for widows, orphans, the homeless, the hungry, and the poor. Secondly, we hope to rally our community in collectively raising much-needed funds to help further his ministry amongst the poor.
This perhaps once in a lifetime event will begin with a concelebrated Mass at 10:00am at St Mary’s, immediately followed by the Banquet in the parish hall. Tickets are available for $25 on a first-come-first- served basis by calling Anuska Lekan @ 216-361-2409 or the Slovenian American Times office at 440-833-0020.
